If the sliding filament model of contraction is dependent upon ATP molecules being available, then why would a dead body undergo a condition called rigor mortis?

A dead bodys cells cannot make ATP.
Cross-bridges cannot turn loose the binding sites on actin, and thus the muscle cells cannot return to a relaxed state.
Cross-bridges of myosin cannot pull actin toward the midline of the sarcomere without ATP.
