Since allergies are such a nuisance and allergens arent harmful to us, why do we even make allergy antibodies?

Allergens used to be harmful, but we have evolved resistances to them, so allergy antibodies are just evolutionary baggage.
Allergens are harmful to us and allergy antibodies protect us from them.
Allergy antibodies are just a mistake of the immune system and have no real use.
Allergy antibodies help defend us against parasites that typically enter the body through the mouth, nose, and throat by increasing mucus secretions and coughing or sneezing to expel the parasites.
