The thin lens equation is:

1/p + 1/q = 1/f       (where p=object distance, q=image distance, f=focal length)

so make f=1 and p=5.75, plug in the equation and solve for q

 

Part B:

Magnification is given by:

M = -q / p   (plug in answer from part A for q, and 5.75 for p)
