A source delivers an AC voltage of the form 

Δv = 99.0 sin (96πt),

 where Δv is in volts and t is in seconds, to a capacitor. The maximum current in the circuit is 0.580 A.

(a) Find the rms voltage of the source.

a. Vrms= 99.0V * .707= 69.93

b. frequency is 96/2 because the equation is V=Vmax* sin(2 [pie] f t )

     f=48

c. Use the equation Xc=1/(2[pie] f C). Solve for capacitance. C=1/(Xc 2[pie] f)

The reactance is gonna be Vrms=lrms*Xl or Xc so just divide Vrmsn by lrms .580*.707= .410

69.93/.410= 1.7E^2

C=1/(1.7E^2*2[pie]*69.93)

1.34E^-5
