Why are bogs so nutrient poor?

+3 votes

Bogs lack oxygen, which prevents microorganisms from decomposing dead organic matter.

Bogs are primarily found in very cold regions, which slows down the growth of microorganism(s) that decompose dead organic matter.

The nutrients have been leached away by the vast amount of water in the bogs.

All of the listed responses are correct.
