Why are the results of studies of DNA replication in E. coli applicable to the same process in humans?

E. coli is similar to humans because it replicates its entire genome before every cell division.

Most other organisms that could be used to study DNA are pathogenic to humans and thus difficult to work with. E. coli is not pathogenic.

Because E. coli lives in the human gastrointestinal tract, it must replicate its DNA the same way that humans do.

The chromosome structure of this organism is identical to that of humans.
