The consequences of four deletions from the region upstream of the yeast gene DBM1 are studied to determine the effect on transcription. The normal rate of transcription, determined from study of transcription of genes that do not have upstream deletions, is defined as 100%. The location of each deletion and the effects of deletions on DBM1 transcription are shown.
