What is the resolution of the dilemma known as Olbers paradox?

The universe is not infinite in extent and has evolved in time.
Light from the most distant galaxies is absorbed by interstellar dust.
None of the ideas listed here gives a satisfactory explanation.
Light gets "tired" on its way to Earth and runs out of energy.
Stars and galaxies get cooler as they move farther out in the universe, and hence give out less light.
