Why are infrared and radio telescopes the instruments of choice for study of the galactic center?

0 votes
There are more radio and infrared telescopes than optical ones in the world.
Dust in the plane of the Milky Way obscures observations at other wavelengths.
The galactic central region only radiates energy in the radio-frequency and infrared bands.
These types of telescopes are cheaper to build and operate than optical ones.
Radio and infrared telescopes are bigger than optical ones and hence can see farther.
