What effect would take place as light escapes from a source just outside the event horizon of a black hole?

It will experience a gravitational redshift.
It will experience a gravitational blueshift.
It would either experience a blueshift or a redshift, depending on which side of the black hole the emission takes place.
This can never take place; light is always captured by black holes.
It would turn around and be reabsorbed by the black holes gravitational field..
